Queensland State Championship : 2012-14

For the next three years things were stable with teams sticking around. On top of that, in 2014 a side from PNG was admitted, making the number of sides 13.

2012: The Redcliffe Dolphins took the league (34 points) by a single point from Wynnum Manly Seagulls. NSW outfit Tweed Heads came in third (29) and Ipswich Jets on 28 points. Norths Devils tied on 26 points but superior a superior points differential had them making up the 5th final placing.

Elimination Final: Norths 26-20 Ipswich.
Qualifying Final: Tweed Heads 19-16 Wynnum Manly

Elimination Final: Wynnum Manly 30-22 Norths.
Qualifying Final: Redcliffe 32-16 Tweed Heads.

Elimination Final: Wynnum Manly 30-4 Tweed Heads.

Grand Final: Wynnum Manly 20-10 Redcliffe.

2013: The Northern Pride from Cairns took the league with 32 points. The Mackay Cutters came second (28), from Tweed Heads (25), Easts Tigers and Wynnum Manly both on 24 points. They made up the finalists.

Elimination Final: Ipswich 33-6 Wynnum Manly.
Qualifying Final: Easts 31-18 Mackay.

Elimination Final: Mackay 27-16 Ipswich.
Qualifying Final: Easts 29-16 Northern Pride.

Elimination Final: MacKay 20-6 Northern Pride.

Grand Final: Mackay 27-20 Easts (see highlights below).


2014: Northern Pride again won the league (44 points) comfortably from Wynnum Manly (38), Easts (37), Tweed Heads (35) and Ipswich (34). These went on to the finals.

Elimination Final: Ipswich 28-10 Tweed Heads.
Qualifying Final: Easts 18-12 Wynnum Manly.

Elimination Final: Wynnum Manly 34-22 Ipswich.
Qualifying Final: Northern Pride 8-7 Easts.

Elimination Final: Easts 30-12 Wynnum Manly..

Grand Final: Northern Pride 36-4 Easts.

Summary: Wynnum Manly and Northern Pride had done well in recent years and carried that form into this period. Easts had really lifted from cellar dweller last period to third but didn't win anything. The PNG Hunters looked OK fist time up.
